FAQs
What is Fibreband?
Fibreband is the new high-speed broadband service, provided by a fibre optic connection, which permits far greater speeds than a traditional copper based broadband service used in the UK currently.
What is an ONT
ONT stands for Optical Network Terminal, this is the device installed in your house which splits the various services up.
Will it work with my computer?
Fibreband will work on any device with an Ethernet socket.
Will my existing router work with your broadband?
Yes, you need to ensure it has an Ethernet socket as the WAN (Wide Area network) port. An ADSL modem/wireless router will not work. You can purchase a compatible device from us.
Can more than one computer use my Internet connection?
Yes more than one computer can use the same Internet connection. In order to do this you will need to use a wireless router in order to share your connection throughout the house.
What does unlimited broadband mean?
At Fibreband unlimited broadband means that we will not cap the amount you can download, we may however enforce fair usage policies during peak periods in order to prioritise certain types of traffic. This ensures that all users will receive a proportionate level of service, rather than the service being dominated by heavy users.
